400 league

This is just a little section for the 400 league to be discussed. As everyone knows, we did very well in the league last year; coming second on point count. As a result, we are hot favourites to win the league this year as Widnes have opted not to compete this year. I'm aware that Joe is playing a strong team however in the d league. As a result if anybody feels taht they aren't getting their fair share of games then please just post a message to me on the topic segment.

the people who arn't getting a fair share of games are unlikely to post here i fear due to not having internet access at home. If the worst comes to the worst i will play people not getting games on the bottom few boards of the manchester league. (IF WE STILL ENTER A TEAM) as everyone who pays membership at the club is entitled to play at least a few games

Also since when were we HOT FAVORITE'S TO WIN THE 400 LEAGUE???

When last years winner dont compete, second is hot favourite in my opinion, and with my captaining skills and the cracked squad behind me, we can't lose!

Back to being erious though, i have decided what will very probably be the 400 league team versus Penketh on the 15th October.* See below:

1) S. Jones (107)
2) D. McCarthy (105)
3) G. Fortune (94)
4) S. Wagstaff (39)

Total Grades: 345

* If anyone has difficulty making the fixture who is selected or wishes to know why they weren't selected, please post a reaction.

Penketh might have finished rock bottom in the 400 league last year bu please look at their team versus Runcorn in September:

1) Andy Reynolds (132)
2) J. Vernon (71)
3) J. Hodgkin (68)
4) B. Beggs (25)

I think the inclusion of Reynolds was due to a ame in the d league being scheduled nearby that fixture, but the same thing occurs with our match for them. Penketh have some solid players and although I can't see the inclusion of more than one, that made me rethink the team I intended to put out against them. I have opted for myself at board one as I dont want to overload things if they do bring a weaker team and my garde isn't too high, meaning that even if I lose we can aim or a 3-1 victory, as Runcorn achieved against them. This is putting a lot of pressure on you though Damian, no margin for error!

Lol, no worries. If you think you stand a better chance against their board one then me then good luck ;) I'll be glad of an easier game and to be honest you ought to be pushing yourself with tougher games this year

But there is nothing wrong with the team selected below as its all in grade order etc... no one can moan about that.

Lol watch this i bet Penketh will turn up with a totally different line up now you've given them notice of the side your putting out. You can be sure someone from Penketh will have read this by the time of the match, if i was the Penketh captain i'd now turn up with an ultra strong line up just to put you in your place lol :P ...

Dont know where that leaves widnes then. When john littlewood and frank barker play in the same team, they have a combined age of 157!

Hi guys. Nice comments. Getting back to the topic, george fortune has told me he cannot play. As such the team has been a little rejigged probably to the below:

1) Chris Chadwick 138
2) Damian McCarthy 105
3) Steve Wagstaff 39
4) Rhiann Jones!!! UG

The thing is I want Rhiann to get a start to her season and trust me; due to something happening in school on tuesday I may not be in any condition to play chess myself. Any questions or querries about the decision please post.
